Ethics of love and ethics of desire in the poetry of Cesar Moro

Abstract

What is love for Moro? What is desire? What causes them? What effects do they have in subjectivity? I intend to study the dynamics of love and desire in the poetry of Cesar Moro using three types of images: as events leading to a process of truth, as forces suspending traditional moral and as signs of something that goes beyond to the subjectivity and depart from any rational logic.

Author Biography

Víctor Vich, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú

Doctor en Literatura Hispanoamericana por la Georgetown University, EE. UU. Es autor de siete libros, entre los que destacan: Contra el sueño de los justos: la literatura peruana ante la violencia política (2009), Voces más allá de lo simbólico: ensayos sobre poesía peruana (2013) y Poéticas del duelo: ensayos sobre arte, memoria y violencia política (2015). Ha sido profesor invitado en diversas universidades del extranjero como Harvard, Berkeley, Madison y la Universidad de Bonn en Alemania. En el 2009, ganó la beca Guggenheim y, en el 2015, la beca Tinker. Actualmente, es profesor principal en la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
