“El inspirado vate ha sido declarado en rebeldía”: Rubén Darío, José Santos Chocano y la estafa al banco de España
Abstract
Since he was very young, José Santos Chocano searched the affection of Rubén Darío and he repaid his generosity. Their friendship reached its intensity in Madrid, where both of them were celebrating their literary triumphs, but it became critical when Chocano was involved in the so called scandal of the Bank of Spain. This changed when Chocano defended Darío from the attacks of his Nicaraguan fellow men, the exchange of ideas on the Mexican Revolution which affected deeply their lives, and a final meeting in Guatemala, ignored so far by Dario ́s biographers.Downloads
