Javier Sologuren and poetry of knowledge (poesía del conocimiento) in Peru. An interpretation of La hora (1980; The hour)
Abstract
This work presents an interpretation of Javier Sologuren’s work La hora (1980) as an evidence of three little considered phenomena in the history of Latin American poetry. In reference to the avant-garde esthetic and political legacy, the interpretation of romantic traditions other than Spanish, and the invention and interpretation of Eastern poetic traditions in Spanish, La hora problematizes conceptual and prosodic issues
relevant to the poetic work. In an address of the different forms of prosodic expression in accordance with a concrete thesis, La hora not only represents a spike in Sologuren’s work; it also responds to the poetic tradition labeled as Poetry of Knowledge, which reflects on the balanced coexistence between nature and humanity.
