Abstract

Discourse has a communicative purpose. In the journalistic genre of tabloids, the news tries to impact the reader with striking headlines on any topic of interest; this can be seen in the headlines of one of the top-selling newspapers in Peru: Trome, a tabloid that stands out for its striking headlines, due to the use of phraseology with a metaphorical sense. This research describes conceptual metaphors in the headlines of Trome and focuses on the description of a prototypical form: chaos and one of its effects: punishment. The data collected correspond to the years 2010, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, and were taken from its digital version.

Nora Solís Aroni, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos

Es magíster en Educación con mención en Docencia e Investigación en Educación Superior por la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Es candidata al doctorado en Psicología por la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, licenciada en Lingüística (UNMSM), docente de la Escuela Profesional de Lingüística de la UNMSM, investigadora del Centro de Investigación de Lingüística Aplicada, directora del Fondo Editorial de San Marcos (2016-2017) y coordinadora del grupo de investigación Pragmática Lingüística (2016-2019). Su área de investigación comprende diversos temas, tales como el estudio de los préstamos del inglés en el español, la influencia de la pragmática en el uso de la lengua, análisis crítico del discurso, factores psicológicos intervinientes en la adquisición de la competencia lingüística. Es, además, conferencista nacional e internacional en temas de lingüística, educación y psicología educativa.
