Cesar Moro and his translators

Abstract

While outlining some of the personality of the poet profiles, an approach to the most important milestones of this poetry from the first moments until the final texts is suggested. In the midst of all this, the role played by different translators who undertake the work of Cesar Moro is crucial. The characteristics of the two major aditions of his complete poetry made one by Unesco and the other by the Academia Peruana de la Lengua (Peruvian Academy of the language- as reference in English) is also discussed.

Author Biography

Jorge Nájar, Université Paris-V-René-Descartes

Es poeta, narrador y traductor. Ganó el Premio Copé de Oro 1984 con su libro de poemas Finibus terrae. En el 2001 obtuvo el Premio Juan Rulfo de Poesía convocado por Radio Francia Internacional con Canto ciego. El Fondo Editorial de la Universidad Federico Villarreal ha publicado en el 2013 su Poesía reunida. Como traductor, ha seleccionado y traducido una antología de Poesía contemporánea de expresión francesa (2003), Conocimiento del Este de Paul Claudel (2008), la obra Narrativa francesa de Ventura García Calderón (2011), entre otras aventuras. En narrativa, ha publicado: Penúltima odisea y otras ficciones (2007), Vallejo y la célula non plus ultra (2010), El alucinado (2013) y El árbol de Sodoma (2014). En Francia ha trabajado en diferentes instituciones públicas y privadas de enseñanza. Es doctor honoris causa por la Universidad Nacional de Ucayali. Actualmente, reside en París.
