PEDRO BENVENUTTO MURRIETA, LEXICOGRAFO
Abstract
En nuestro país se han dado grandes batallas por el idioma: primero, con Juan de Arona, esforzado luchador en el empeño de definir voces propias de nuestro pueblo. Segundo, con Ricardo Palma, incansable luchador por imponer y hacer reconocer la vigencia de peruanismos. Tercero, con Emilio Huidobro, casi olividado gramático que bregó por enseñar el castellano con andaderas etimológicas y semánticas para amenizar las gramatiquerías provincianas y estériles. Cuarto, con Pedro Benvenutto Murrieta, que se puso en la línea de fuego polémico para sistematizar la maraña del lenguaje peruano.
